We’ve been looking forward to Amerie coming back to claim her rightful place in R&B for awhile now. Her new album ‘In Love & War’ is due out in November and is scheduled to feature guests such as Trey Songz and Fabolous. The album also features a Cool & Dre produced song as well as a Jim Jonsin (Sweet Dreams, Whatever You Like, Kiss Me Thru The Phone) assisted cut that we’re looking forward to most of all.

The video below was directed by Anthony Madler who has directed videos for T.I, The Killers and Jay-Z as well as pretty much every good Rihanna video. The song was produced by Eric Hudson and Sean Garrett.

Illegal Downloading – In a battle that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere truly worthwhile, Radiohead, Keane and Blur have come out in strong support of the ‘three strikes’ rule against illegal downloading in the UK. The rule will see users bandwidth sanctioned after three warnings if they continue to download music illegally. A message on the Feature Artists Coalition website said, “Our meeting voted overwhelmingly to support a three-strike sanction on those who persistently download illegal files, sanctions to consist of a warning letter, a stronger warning letter and a final sanction of the restriction of the infringer’s bandwidth to a level which would render file-sharing of media files impractical while leaving basic email and web access functional.” It still seems like there could be a lot of loopholes here, e.g. moving onto a new internet provider, obviously not wanting to pay for something that you cannot use, downloading at free internet spots, the fact that this is coming from three bands who aren’t as affected by illegal downloading as other musicians etc. More as it unfolds, I guess. John MayerProbably not, considering the song meanders into middle of the road territory pretty quickly. Mayer said, “when I sing it, I do not think about marijuana — I think about walking around your house naked with a guitar.” Okay, whatever, I’m pretty sure Ryan Adams probably wrote this anyway considering it sounds like a lamer b-side from ‘Jacksonville City Nights.’ Mayer’s new album ‘Battle Studies’ is out November 17 and although we’re not exactly psyched about it, we’re still sort of interested in hearing the Taylor Swift collaboration, ‘Half Of My Heart.’ Also, extra points for the tags. “John Mayer dot com!” Hear it here.
