Lawrence Arabia (a.k.a James Milne) won the APRA Silver Scroll award for his song ‘Apple Pie Bed.’ The award winners were announced last night in Christchurch at the 44th annual award show. The song was one of 400 entries for the prestigious Silver Scroll and was it also co-written by The Phoenix Foundation’s Luke Buda. The other four finalists were Midnight Youth (The Letter), Dimmer (Degrees of Existence), Jess Chambers (Island) and Phil Madsen (Dancing on the Moon). As our good friends have pointed out, Lawrence Arabia is the first indie artist to win the otherwise commercially dominated award. We look forward to hearing the performances.
